Teacher & Violist Jennifer Elton Turbes grew up in Duluth, MN and graduated from the Lake Superior Suzuki Talent Education Program, studying with Laurie Bastian for 12 years. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Olaf College, followed by graduate studies at the Eastman School of Music, from which she holds the degrees Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music. Jennifer is passionate about pedagogy and performance, serving as a full time member of the Suzuki faculty at the Upper Valley Music Center (Lebanon, NH) and appearing frequently on concert programs in Vermont and New Hampshire. She has registered teacher training with the Suzuki Association of the Americas through violin book 5 (with Nancy Lokken, Edward Kreitman & Carrie Ruening-Hummel), and her principal viola teachers include George Taylor, John Graham, Sabina Thatcher, Charles Gray, Warren Friesen, and Bastian.
